Uplands Poetry Night is an exciting new monthly collaboration between Swansea University Creative Writing and Poetry Into Light, with readings, discussion and networking, held in the warmth and intimacy of the upstairs rooms of Bar St James. The event launched in December 2025 with poet and award-winning spoken word artist Rhian Edwards.

Uplands Poetry Night features performances and Q&A with established poets alongside up-and-coming voices from across Swansea University, offering a vibrant and supportive space for sharing, listening and socialising. 

Curated by: Prof. Owen Sheers (Swansea University), Dr Guinevere Clark, (Poetry into Light CIC) & CJ Wagstaff (Swansea University PhD candidate).
